Frequently Asked Questions

What does my child need to do if they are unwell in school?

If your child is unwell, they must go to our First Aid room, located on the ground floor, in room G-24. From there, if the First Aid team deems your child too unwell to stay in school, a member of staff will contact you to arrange for your child to be collected by yourself, or a trusted adult, from our school reception.

Students should not contact you themselves, as the use of mobile phones is not allowed in school.

Who do I contact if my child needs to leave for an appointment, or will be in school late due to an appointment?

If your child needs to leave for an appointment, you must let the school know in advance. To do so, you can:

  1. Email attendance@kelvinhall.net

  2. Send an In App message directly to the school using the Arbor app

  3. Call our Pupil Absence line on 01482 496 730

  4. Call our reception on 01482 342 229

You can follow the same process if your child will be late due to an appointment.

My child needs a new planner/key/lanyard/student card, how can I purchase these?

You can purchase all the above items on our online ParentPay Shop here. You do not need a ParentPay account to purchase anything there.
Students can also purchase thes
e items at our Student Services, located on the first floor. However, we do not advise bringing cash into school.

I need to take my child out of school for a holiday/family occasion, who should I contact?

To report an absence, planned or unplanned, you can:

  1. Email attendance@kelvinhall.net

  2. Send an In App message directly to the school using the Arbor app

  3. Call our Pupil Absence line on 01482 496 730

  4. Call our reception on 01482 342 229

I have a query about my Free School Meals vouchers, who do I contact?

If you have a query about Free School Meals vouchers sent out to parents and carers for the school holidays, please contact fsm@thrivetrust.uk.

If you have a general query about Free School Meals (e.g., how do I apply for free school meals, how does it work, how do I know my child receives free school meals, etc…) please contact our school reception on 01482 342 229.

Where are after-school sports fixtures posted?

After-school sports fixtures are posted on our dedicated After-School Clubs website page. Fixtures are updated regularly on the Google Calendar by the P.E. department. Should fixtures be cancelled, we will contact parents and carers to make you aware. Whilst we will always try to give sufficient notice, please understand that this may sometimes be out of our control.

You can also find a timetable of all our after-school activities on the After-School Clubs website page. Please note that after-school clubs do not record attendance. All clubs are free to attend and open to all students.
