The Governing Body is constituted under the requirements of the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012. A key consideration in the appointment and election of all governors should be that the governing body has the qualities needed to be effective.
At Kelvin Hall School our Governing Body includes governors with a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience so that we can work effectively with the school to achieve our main aim, which is to provide an outstanding education for all our young people. Currently, the Governing Body is comprised of: four Co-opted Governors, two Co-opted Parent Governors, two Staff Governors and the Headteacher who serves as an ex officio staff governor.
The Kelvin Hall Governing Body follows the National Governors Association Code of Conduct, which is available to view through this link: NGA Code of Conduct 2018.pdf
