Hull Truck’s special Christmas production Prince Charming’s Christmas Cracker will be live streamed into every home, school and care home in our region this Christmas.
Now more than ever we need to find new ways to share the magic of Christmas when our usual traditions may be constrained by the challenging circumstances of the pandemic. This collaboration provides a meaningful and enjoyable experience for families bringing the magic of theatre to the widest audience as a special treat in difficult times.
In providing a positive, accessible cultural experience of the highest quality, this innovative and meaningful partnership will support wellbeing and community cohesion in the regions communities – just when our residents, care homes and pupils need it most.
The partnership will also act as a high-profile showcase of our cultural mission and values in action. Removing barriers to bring the show directly into residents’ homes and into schools will deliver against five key priorities:
• Delivering sustained cultural and leisure growth
• Improving health and welfare
• Supporting children and families
• Improving access through digitally enabled services
• Developing new ways of working in partnership.
A fully interactive Premier of the production will be streamed for families watching at home, currently planned on the 23rd December. The stream will also be available for all residents and care homes to watch between 24th December and the 3rd January to allow people/families to watch it at a time convenient to them and ensure the highest possible reach.
For schools and community groups, it will also be available for the week commencing 4th January and an accompanying resource packs and direct engagement with school in the most deprived wards will be available.
